WF Dropped all 3 FICO's

So I wrote a GoodWill letter to WellsFargo to remove 3 late's from 2012-2013. Ever since then I've had a flawless payment history. Wells Fargo responded horribly saying it is against the FCRA or similar acronym) to report false information and they would not consider my request. Additionally they would send all 3 CRA's a note to put on the headline of my account in their reports. "Currently paying on time. Previously late 3 times".

Seriously this is what it's showing now.

I just checked CCT and my FICO score just dropped 20-30 points with each CRA because of this!!!

The late's were already showing previously so how is this possible I don't understand at all

Notations on the account have no bearing on scoring. If these negatives were already there for 3+ years, something else happened and is causing your score drops.

It's not in the "Remarks" section it's literally at the headline where it says payment status.

I've thoroughly reviewed all three reports comparing them to reports from 2 weeks ago this is the only change that has occurred on all 3 reports. So it's definitely something to do with WF...

This is why I personally leave all accurate info be (negative and positive). I've seen post from other members with BK removals, inquiry removals, lates etc and it works for them most times, BUT WITH MY LUCK = JACK UP WORSE THAN BEFORE......no thanks! Lol

Time will pass regardless, so I patiently wait.

You mean they changed your status code? A Current account is an 11, what your describing is a 33.

I can see how that would lower your score, and that sucks. I have never seen banks use all those other weird codes for status of accounts.

I think it's a combination of C with 73* that's exactly what it says is those to combined.

Previously yeah it showed the lates in the history but it said Current. Nothing else.

I was getting ready to send them a goodwill letter to remove 13 late pays on a old credit card account. Now I'm hesitant to send it after reading what happened to you. The account was brought current and paid off in early 2015.

I'm not expert –

But, I have noticed in the past when I've disputed items, and the response was similar to the one WF gave you, my credit score dropped as well. Something about it "appearing" newer on your credit, due to updated remarks. In my case, it usually sorts itself out within 1.5 months or so.

I hope so that's really a terrible thing to drop someone's score based on information that was ALREADY in their report.

Call the credit department in Des Moines, Iowa. Explain the situation and ask that they remove the negative remarks. They are pretty responsive and are willing completely remove disputes, etc.

Fleuriste- We received a letter in the mail they were pretty intense.

They sent copies of the statements from 4-5 years ago showing the late's in addition to making it clear that they would not do any GW adjustment on my account an in fact were going to make the new report to the CRAs.

This all came from their Des Moines offices. So if they did all of that why would they undo it?

I find it halarious that WF talks about how it's against rules. Yet it's Really up to them. But yet they will open a bank account in someone's name without them knowing and break all kinds of laws. Then they want to preach ethics in a goodwill response.

I think it depends on who you talk to. I called someone who was not in Des Moines to remove a dispute and was told they would only change it to "dispute resolved customer agrees." I hung up and called Des Moines and they agreed to remove dispute language from all three CRAs. This happened in the past week and one of the CRAs is already updated to reflect the change.

I don't understand what you're saying about a dispute though. Did they remove all late payment history or was there a dispute or...?

Matt, they didn't remove the late payment history. But they did remove the dispute about it.

Both of the people I spoke to in Des Moines were very nice. I don't think it would hurt to call them and explain what happened and see if they can at least adjust it back to what it was before.

I'm not saying our situations are exactly the same. I'm saying it wouldn't hurt to call them and ask them to readjust your comments back to what they were before.
