I have 2 medical collections left on my transunion report for ekg interpretations. 84, and 85$. When i tried calling the business to straighten these out, I find out they are out of business, though they are still with collection agencies.

These should have been covered by insurance, I've had 4 other collections removed already by talking to the doctors offices. I'm at a loss as to what to do here. How do i dispute these to get them removed?

Do i send a dispute directly to the CRA stating the business is no longer running and I can't validate the debt? Do i send a validation to the CA? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Dv

I read that method but doesn't it include contacting the origibal creditor? They went out of business so that's impossible for me....

Not to be rude but since I explained in my post that it was on my Transunion report and that I've had four collections removed already that this would be pretty obvious, since it isn't,

I would like to get them removed from my reports since they shouldn't be there to begin with. Since I'm unable to contact the original creditor I dont know how to proceed.

I would suggest approaching the collections as having been reported by a debt collector that no longer has collection authority based on showing that they are no longer in business.

That will permit you to get the collection deleted based on the CRA policy that a debt collector delete their reported collection if the debt remains unpaid and the debt collector no longer has active collection authority.

What proof do you have showing that the debt collector no longer has active collection authority?
