Is it with a collection agency? Did you pay the collection agency? If it reported to your credit as a negative/collection it won't be removed for 7 years plus 180 days from the date of first delquincy, which sounds like it would of been in 2013 if I'm understanding correctly?

I have an old verizon account that was opened in11/2008, closed 10/2013 and paid in full 03/2014. I tried to get transunion and equifax to remove it since its within the dates for removal but it didnt work. I found a forum that mentioned they contacted the executive account rep and got it removed that way, but there was no info on contacts, emails or phone numbers.
Does anyone have a email contact for verizon or has had success with removal from their report?

Ok. I thought there was a way to remove it sooner then 2020 via a backdoor.

@Anonymous wrote:

Is it with a collection agency?

Are you requesting deletion because of derogs that were reported on the account?

If so, what were the derogs and when did they occur?

Normally, the consumer does not request deletion of an entire account that is 8-9 years old, they request deletion of only the adverse items reported under the account.

Is there a specific reason why you want deletion of the entire account?

Good will requests often require grant of exceptions from normal policies that are placed on underlings, who often have no discretion to grant exceptions.

If you dont have a specific management contact name, then direct your request to their executive office, which will ensure it is at least opened by an offical with authority to grant exceptions to normal management policy.

If this went to colections in 2013, and was paid in full to the collection agency in 2014, you will need to send a good will letter to the collection agency asking them to remove the trade line. You can google or look here for samples of good will letters. The time frame though for removal is 7 years plus 180 days and there is no way around that, unless you do a pay for delete, or send a good will letter asking for removal after you've already paid it.
