Hi ABCD2199, thanks for replying. Back in my rebuild days, I know about sending a letter. But I've seen threads where there was an email, and was hoping not to wait 30-60 days for a respons. In lieu of an email, Im going to try a letter anyhow.

Hi all! Former active user, now back as I try to purchase a new home (after my husband and I each have sold our homes!) :-D

My CS is affected by high utilization, which over the next month I am going to pay down, and move some to a 0% interest CC for management.

My Dh, though, his CR has a single 30 day late, a home depot CC, where his bank changed billpay providers and a payment was not ported over. His bank covered the late payment charge,, but the 30 day late has stuck. This is from 2014.

Berfore we start pulling qualifications for a house, I was wondering if anyone had a backdoor method to try and get the 30 day late off his CR? in 7 years of history, he's always paid more than the minimum, paid it off, put more on, you know like a regular card, and has ONE 30 day late . We did call back in 2015 , when we saw it, and they did nothing. But it was 3 years ago.

Was hoping for an email address to reach someone, as we want to start pushing for a home in the next 15-30 days (we are living with family right now) and not sure if a GW letter CMRR has enough time built in.

Thanks!!

I've GW'd all my lates -- including repeat 90D lates on a CC I still have!

My process was to avoid the phone at all costs because it was always a waste of time (even EO phone calls). I wrote letters by mail and emails to everyone (one CC involved sending 42 emails to 42 possible email addresses based on VP+ first names and last names, lol). I have no idea WHICH version worked for which bank, but all the banks removed all the late notifications eventually. One bank took many months of writing USPS letters and emails before someone finally called me to discuss and then a few weeks later "paid as agreed" across 5 years of history with random lates.

With a huge bank like Citibank I would email AND write a letter.

Citibank's email address format is USUALLY firstname.lastname@citibank.com -- Michael Corbat is the current CEO of Citigroup I believe so maybe try michael.corbat@citibank.com or even try Jud Linville (CEO of Citi Cards) or William Mills (CEO USA) or John Gerspach (CFO) Barbara Desoer (CEO Citibank) or Michael Carawan (COO).

I'd email them all using the name format, and write letters to them as well at the EO address.

If your scores are high and tight, and an otherwise clean CRs ...one baddie won't hurt you The LO will more then likely ask you for a "Letter of Explanation" on why the baddie when it gets to underwriting.

IMHO I would recommend getting pre-approval before you start sweating the small stuff. Your baddie is single 30 DL (not to mention over yr old) and you might be spinning your wheels and adding alot of stress for something that might not affect you.

Good Luck on your journey!
