Removing a derogatory from my reports

So, about two hours ago I got off the phone with Lowe's (Synchrony) about a 30-day late reported last month. The representative admitted it was their fault (I had no idea auto-pay isn't withdrawn until the second month) and put me on hold for about 5 minutes to file a report to the 3 CRA's to remove the 30-day late.

How long will it take for the 30-day late to fall off my reports?

I expect total utilization to fall from 47% to around 5% (with only one card showing a balance) by the end of June, what kind of bump should I expect from this action?

I plan to apply for a VA home loan a year from now, so I want to achieve the best score possible.

If the person that you were talking to is the person that was actually submitting the update to the CRA's, you will probably see it in the next 48 hours.

Going from 47% to 5 should give you a substantial bump. I went from less than 9 to over 29 and lost 23 points on one of my scores.

In that case, he's probably not the actual person. When I asked for a timeframe for seeing a change, he answered that it may take, "...a month or two." While I'm certainly new to the credit world, I found it hard to believe it would take that long. If he's right, that really sucks.

I would assume that if they truly do submit it right away that you're looking at maybe a few days for it to pop up. It seems like most CRA's are usually really quick to update info as long as they are contacted correctly!

No, I wish it were. I have one 60-day late and six 30-day lates (the last was 28 months ago) on my current car loan with Regional Acceptance. I not quite sure what to do about that.
