Hello! Okay, back in August 08 I started to "repair" my dh's cr so we can purchase a home. Well, before I discovered this site, I automatically took a family member's advise and disputed with the cra's (all 3) several items on this cr. Well, I did have sucess as there were some really bogus records on there that were not even his and some were collection accounts that were being reported by 2-3 different ca's. So, I am glad that some of it worked out. Well, while I was in the disputing process, I disputed 6 medical collections that were all from the same ca. 2 of the 6 were deleted immediately. By the way, this ca only reports to Experian. Experian deleted 2 immediately and I mean like instantly. Well, after the dispute, there are still 4 collections on there from this same company. And Experian did note on the dispute letter that the ca requested a phone call. Well, with the holidays and other things going on, I basically stopped doing anything with his cr up until a month ago. I have still continued to read the posts on here and learn some things, though.

With all of that being said, these are indeed medical collections, which we had no clue of in the beginning. The biggest amount is $2,500.00 and is due to quit reporting (according to Exp report) on May 9, 2009...this year. Another one for $770.00 that will quit reporting in July of this year as well. Well we are in the process of buying a home and have found a home that we want. We still have a few things left to clear up before we can do so. But, we should have all issues resolved before May. Okay, should we leave the ca alone about these 4 since they were disputed and they did not get deleted? They still have not even attempted to contact us at all. And, they have not updated his cr since 10/2003. So, should be leave it alone? Or, should I send them the pre-hippa letter to try to get them removed? I am asking because we may be ready to purchase before the big one drops off in May. Also, will it really affect his score once they drop since they are so old? And, will they drop off the date that Exp has on the report or at the end of the month?

Thanks to all!

Can you pay these collections in full if you have to? Can you put off buying a house? Starting credit repair right before buying a house can have disastrous results.

Thanks for replying Fused! No, we do not have the funds to pif. I started reparing 08/08 and disputed with them and to this day, they have not re-reported, nor have they tried to contact my mail or phone. And the cras have all of this updated on the cr. They are way past sol and are actually due to "fall off" this year. Where did I go wrong? What can I do to undo what I did wrong? Please help me, now I am really worried. I thought we were safe since they havent reported since 10/03 and they have about to fall off. Thanks again!

If you can't pay them, don't play with them. Let them fall off the reports.
