FIRST PREMIER GOODWILL REMOVAL- all 3 CRA's

First time poster here and I just wanted to share my success with First Premier Bank!

I had 2 credit cards with them - huge mistake- from nearly 10 years ago. One I paid for less than the balance owed in 2014 and one I just paid for less than the balance one month ago. Both had ended up with Rushmore Service Center.

After lurking around here I sent in a goodwill letter via email to the address I've seen here and today they were all removed from TU, EX and EQ! . They were set to fall off in September and December of 2019 but I am so happy to no longer see it on my reports. No one responded to my email or called me, they just fell off.

Congratulations!

Just to clarify - did you get a goodwill deletion directly from First Premier resulting in removal of the original charge-off tradelines? Or is it a goodwill deletion from Rushmore resulting in removal of the related collection tradelines?

I can't say for sure, as no one contacted me after I reached out to them. Rushmore was never on my credit reports and when I spoke to them they said they couldn't help me with that anyways. My most recent pay off was with them, then the account from 4 years ago was a different CA so it has to be First Premier.

Oh wow! Triple Kudos to you - First Premier is a cold-hearted beast so managing a goodwill deletion from them is amazing!!

I've tried several times and I always get a response from that Julie woman with her negative tone and favorite one-liner: "We are reporting accurately." Makes me mad just thinking about it, lol.

Very, very happy for you though!! Well done.

I'm trying to write a goodwill letter to remove a late payment on my first premier card.

The contact you made to them would that also be good in sending a goodwill letter for a late payment? If so, could you send me the contact info via PM?

CONGRATS! I, myself, have credit cards due to fall off in Sept 2019 as well, but have had no luck with the goodwill letters. Just gonna keep trying. Congrats again! You must be so happy!

Also, did you call Rushmore? I have a collection account from FP with them also. I sent a settlement offer but never heard anything back from them.

I've recieved quite a few questions about what I wrote to get the accounts removed so I wanted to share, as the forums were so helpful for me. I sent two emails in the same day, literally back to back. Beforehand I settled my debt with Rushmore for less than the full balance and waited a month before I sent the emails. I sent 2 seperate ones so I'm not sure which one got the debt removed, as no one reached out to me about it. They both fell off of my reports about a week and a half later and then I received a letter in the mail with both of the accounts details as well as confirmation of the deletion.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter, and I hope your day is going well. I’m writing because my most recent credit report contains late payments and a charge off from this credit account. It is now paid in full at less than the balance. I know that it will remain on my report as such, along with the 90 day late, ___ times, which makes my report come up with a serious delinquency, understandably.

I want you to know that I understand my financial obligations, and if it weren’t for my lack of understanding credit at that age and my financial hardships that followed, I’d have an excellent repayment record. I made a mistake in falling behind, but since then, I have committed myself to making smart financial decisions and working to clear my credit, step by step. Since then, I’ve had a spotless record of on-time payments for the last 6 years. I was guided by a credit repair agency to not pay the debt and dispute it, that it would eventually fall off. For my own peace of mind I decided to reach out and pay the debt I rightfully owed.

I’m planning to apply for financing for ________________ and it’s come to my attention that the missed payments and settlement, causing delinquency on my record could hurt my ability to qualify. Owning a home or a car seems like a distant reality for me with this on my report.
