Woke up this morning to a pleasant surprise.

I had disputed the collection account I have with PRA about 29 days ago with Experian.

I had recieved a letter from Experian about 12 days after I opened the dispute that there wasnt enough infomation to make a decision about my dispute yet the dispute stayed open.

Got a email today from them that my dispute results were back.

They removed the account with PRA.

Saw a 81 score increase on Experian.

Now sitting at 746.

The removal of the account also brought my AAoA up 6 months as well.

I really hope they dont re-add the account at some later date. Knowing PRA they probably will try.

I hired an attorney to try to settle the matter with them, and they like to ignore all the legal corespondence and settlement offers. He has sent upwards of 6 letters to them so far and they just send him generic letters back with the account number and the amount. Same stuff they would send in the mail to me.

Super excited, I disputed it on Equifax this morning. Will try Transunion after Equifax dispute comes back

I based my dispute on the fact that PRA has ignored several attorney written certified mail letters willing to settle.
That we were offered a settlement of 167 for a 640ish dollar collection yet they refuse to put the settlement offer in writing and have have ignored the certified mail settlement offers.

I tried this complaint with the CFPB first
PRA simply responded that they were working with my attorney and would continue to work with him. The case just closed after that. No option for any kind of response on my end.
So I figured I would send the same complaint to one credit agency and see how that ended up.

I included all correspondence from my attorney, PRA generic responses to his letters, and the CMRRR receipts. I also included 4 settlement offer letters that I sent to PRA.

I’ve attempted to settle this debt 7 times myself. 3 over the phone, was told I would receive the offer in writing, it never came.
4 times in writing.

My attorney has sent them 5 settlement offers for the amount they told him on the phone.

13 times and it still hasn’t been resolved.
It’s still unpaid.
I have no problem paying the 167 but I want it in writing that it was satisfy the debt in full.
