First Progress GW luck?

I've done some research on these forums and haven't found anyone that has recently had good luck with them removing late payments.

I had a chapter 7 bankruptcy discharged in June of 2016. So I got that card to help rebuild credit. I got into a car accident which lead to a financial hardship. Around the same time, I moved and i wasn't getting the mail that they were sending (rather it wasn't being forwarded by USPS). So I ended up getting a 90 day late charge on my credit report from them. I called and explained my situation to the customer service representative and she said I should write to the correspondence address and they would look at it.

Has anyone had any luck with them removing anything? I filed my bankruptcy and never want to be in that boat again. But here I am asking for help.

I’m hoping this will help? I had a charge off with First Progress Card and paid my balance in full. As soon as FPC posted $0. Bal. I immediately sent out GW letters to both addresses listed on internet. I addressed them both “ATTN: Management Team” I had sent them just regular snail mail(just an envelope and a stamp) I did that purposely to be as less aggressive as possible. I call them because they reported the next month that I “failed to pay” but, they explained that my GW request was honored. So, you might have a good shot with a GW? I’ll keep my fingers crossed for ya!!🤞🤞

Btw, I’m still waiting on that to delete from my cr’s??? But, it’s only been a couple of weeks and it might take the CRA’s 30-60 days to update, as I’ve been told?? So, we’ll see? I’ll be posting as soon as I get the alerts.

Well, I called FP today, to ask why they haven't deleted the CO and why they have been reporting "Fail To Pay" the last 2 months??

I was under the impression that the account was going to be deleted as stated in my GW letter for PIF, that they said was honored but, according to FP they are just going to GW ADJUST the account to PAID/Closed. It'll show as though i have never been late on the account the entire time the card has been reporting(since 2014.) I guess that beats a serious derog, IMO. I specifically asked for deletion of said account but, considering they did not have to do anything for me...I'd say that's better than the would be alternative..."Fail To Pay" Things could always be worse, right?

The other good news is they'll be reporting here in a few days(end of month) so, we'll see what score changes it'll bring?? I'll post once I get some data.

Just the very first letter. I had GREAT help from Donna71281👈Kudos!!

I sent it regular snail mail. Business envelope and stamp. Not CMRRR because I didn’t want to seem too threatening. I called when they were reporting negative marks(as stated in earlier post) and although they didn’t agree to delete the TL but, the alternative was to update it as “Paid/Never Late” we’ll see?? As that IS what they said they would do to honor my GW letter to just an ADJUSTMENT and not deletion. Hopefully, and waiting patiently to update in a few days, since I caught them at the end of the billing cycle for reporting the change. Trust me my fingers are crossed to gain a positive out of it. 🤞🤞🤞

Any update? I'm freaking out because I paid my old charge off in February and they have posted FP "failure to pay" 2 months in a row. I will try for a GW because I'm getting nowhere with the dispute.

I haven’t seen anything yet.

But, as you know it could take anywhere from 30 to 60 days so, I’m just being patient. If I’m not seeing any change by this time next month I’ll call again.

UPDATE!!

Called FP this morning because CRA"s STILL reporting negative info after GW was honored. Spoke to CSR and stated that FP is going to have to get back to me in a day or two so, they can find out WHY the CRA's are still reporting negative info AFTER they had sent the resolved issue to them to report the positive info from the honored GW. So, I will wait for FP to contact me with a response. Hopefully, it will be resolved this time and I can move forward.

I will update in a few days with the results.

I just had to file another dispute with EX(so far) about the FIRST dispute of FP reporting "Fail To Pay" Feb/Mar...AFTER that dispute was completed, FP REPORTED AGAIN "Fail To Pay" but this time for APRIL and MAY!! EVEN the CSR at EX said, "Looks like they're pushing the CO dates UP...that's inaccurate reporting. Not once...but...twice!!" CSR was very nice and I told her the account was PIF in FEBRUARY. So, since FP will not report the accurate information...the CSR advised that I file another dispute. so, we will see?

I finally received the results from my 2nd round of TU disputes with First Progess updating “Fail To Pay” AFTER I had PIF the CO in February!! Finally, it is reporting correctly. I know it won’t help a heck of a lot but, I’m satisfied. Reporting fail to pay months after PIF, is BS.
Now I’m just waiting for EX(which is approaching soon) to see what it’ll show??

I just sent another goodwill to First Progress. Personalized it, unlike before when I was using Lexington Law with no results. Fingers crossed for all of us!

I’m asking them to remove the trade line instead of the late pay, as a goodwill gesture.

Credit Bureaus don’t require creditors to report to them but if they do, they must do so accurately. So deleting the traveling is perfectly legal and would be a goodwill gesture on their part.

I tried the same route but they wouldn’t remove. They would only do a GW adjustment on the backend. Maybe you’ll have better luck.

Well I sent the letter about 2 weeks ago and haven’t heard anything. Called them today to confirm they received it. They said it had been honored but they probably won’t delete the trade line. Just delete what they can. She said they update with the credit bureaus on the 7th of the month. So I should hopefully see something on 7/7/18.

I’m getting anxious! I just really hope they remove the lates. I found another address other than the one in Tennessee. So I will probably be sending more letters out if need be.

Got a letter from First Progress saying I need to call and confirm a few things.

Called and they said they are honoring my request for a goodwill adjustment and have removed all past due payments from all 3 credit bureaus!! I had a 30/60/90 from them on all three CRAs.

Already got an alert from TU!!
