I will do that challenge. Gotcha so I’ll go for 3 cards eventually and a minimum of 1.5 years before I try any basic rewards. Thank you.

Rewards after Bk7

So i checked my reports today to find my scores range from 444 to 536. My discharge should happen on 9-11-18 so im hoping for a decent boost in score. My question is, after getting a couple cards and i plan on getting a credit builder account for mix as well. Whats the easiest reward card to get? Discover after a year? I IIB capital one for atleast 12k. Do their miles vs cash back card vary with score or rebuild time? Are the rewards easily redeemable? I’ve burned cap1, Amex, citi, credit1, And Barclays. Any help is appreciated I’m the type that tries to plan far ahead. Never ever will I have credit card debt. I was told a trick of opening another bank account for credit card payments, guess the idea is to see how much you can actually pay Right then and there. Has anyone tried anything similar?

I can see you getting the Barclay's Apple Rewards card, the Capital One Quicksilver, the Capital One Venture, and an AMEX 1.5 to 2 years post-BK, but YMMV. (I based these suggestions off some threads on myFICO.)

I would not focus on any rewards cards now, though. I would just get started with some secured cards -- ideally 3 bank-issued ones -- and a credit-builder loan and work my way up from there.

Perhaps you should wait to see what your scores are like after the discharge so that the myFICO community can offer more focused advice.

Feel free to check these out :

https://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Bankruptcy/HOW-TO-From-BK7-discharge-to-700-in-24-months-or-less/td-p/1384075

https://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Bankruptcy/Bankruptcy-Friendly-Credit-Cards-Pt-2/td-p/3999737

Have you ever heard of AZEO? If you have haven't, look it up. It's a great way of using your cards while maxmizing your scores.

I am hoping others will chime in to offer some more suggestions.

Discover offers a secured card that has cash back rewards and can graduate. They're the exception, as I'm not aware of any other secure cards with rewards. And Discover has approved people fresh from BK if they were not among those burned.

You can check your prequal without a hard pull as well.
