Two Medical Collections

I have two medical collections showing on my Fico reports. Both are under $100:

$63

I've never dealt with anything like this head-on and would like some advice. Paying them isn't the issue, it's paying them so that there is positive outcome on my reports. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

Medical collections less than $100 aren’t factored into your FICO score, so they should not be affecting you. I would just pay them, first asking for a PFD, just to be safe. Get them out of your life...

I always see people say that medical collections under $100 aren’t factored into FICO 8 scores, but I have one medical collection for $80. The reasons they give for my scores being a little lower than they should be are that I have something in collections. So if they aren’t a factor, why am I being given that reason? Does that make sense?

I think I'll look up the PFD information and give it a try.

I paid mine last year, but am scared to ask them to delete it as I have 3 other collections with them that they're not reporting. 2 for like $1,000 and one for about $28,000... So yeah... I'm not about to go poke that bear. When I pulled my reports last year, TU said it'll be deleted from my reports 8/2019, but EX said it would be deleted 6/2019. It never reported to EQ. So I think I'm going to call TU and ask for an Early Exclusion like I did with all of my other collections. It worked then, so who knows! I know EX won't delete until 3 months before the DoFD, so I'll try them in a few months. This is my very last collection and I can't wait to have a clean report!

Medicals are some of the easiest to go after, since these are years old you will want to start with asking the OC to recall the collection

For unpaid medical debt that is reporting on your CR:

1. Call the OC and see if insurance can be billed, if not then
2. see if you qualify for Charity Care, if not then
3. ask that they recall the collection in exchange for full payment
4. Send the reporting CA a PFD offer
5. Google the HIPAA Process and contact its creator for help
