Hello, new member first post. My wife and I are starting the process of aggressively rebuilding our credit. I've learned of this term PFD in reading the forum here. How does one get a PFD Agreement from the creditor or the collector? Also how do the multiple collection agencies that are tagged to one account come off the report once paid?

How does one get a PFD Agreement from the creditor or the collector? Best way is to send a written letter requesting one, they are designed foremost for a CA as OCs are very very hard to get one from unless they are really old COs. Here are some examples of

Also how do the multiple collection agencies that are tagged to one account come off the report once paid? Per CRA rules there can only be one CA that reports on a debt, if there are multis you need to dispute the older CAs as not having authority to collect anymore and they should be removed. As far as the one that has the collection authority and they agree to a PFD it is they who submit a deletion to the CRAs. Welcome to the board
