Looking for help

I just started paying off my collections. I have an acct with iq data that they say I owe $4468(they put an extreme amount of interest here), I called and offered $1000 to which the manager almost laughed at my face. He said minimum with deletion is $3734.40 or $2988.73, at this point i dont care if it is deleted, i just want to pay it but i cant pay it all. What is a fair amount here? It is over 3 years old, just scared they will come sue me.

Have you tried sending them a DV letter, I had a collection account from IQ Data and sent them a DV letter about a year ago. I never heard back from them but the collection account disapeared from my credit reports and no other CA has contacted me about the collection or reported it to my CRA's. Unless I read your post wrong it also sounds like they are open to a PFD, if that is the case I would send letters to everyone you can find in their EO offering to settle the account for $1,000 and a PFD.

What’s the statue of limitations in your state? If your still within it will be very hard to settle for that low of an amount.

I have one with them too. Going to send dv because they never sent me a dunning notice and last year when I tried to settle they refused every offer I gave. They wanted 100% for deletion or 90% for no deletion. They refused a $2k initial offer to settle, then a $2k offer with $200 payments for 6 months for a final settlement of 3200. Debt was 3500 at the time. They then asked for my 2k plus payments offer when I made my last offer of 1500. They are just a nightmare and extremely rude and threatening. I filed a cfpb complaint on them and they finally stopped harassing and threatening me. My debt is 3 years old as well now. I refuse to deal with them since they are so abusive.

I am in Az and from what I undertood 7 years since is a debt with a contract(apartment building), if it was without a contract it would be past already.

They told me the debt accrues a 10% interest

My debt is also over 3 years old and at this point I just want to avoid being sued by them.

Have them show you where in the FDCPA that allows them to collect a 10% interest. lol Dont let them scare you.
