For what it's worth, Credit Mgmt. LP was inaccurately reporting on me and the girl that answered the there phone was too rude to deal with so I just reported them to the Association of Credit and Collection Agencies (ACA - don't ask me where the other C went). All of a sudden they couldn't delete their entry fast enough. I've also noticed that since I filed my complaint, the former links to the ACA website, from the CMI website, have become just logos, no hyperlink. But in the case that you may need it, you can get a complaint form from the following email address:

ethics@acainternational.org

Message Edited by jonesja22 on 04-08-2009 12:38 AM

I have a colleciton on my credit reports that was orginially from Time Warner.

Its now listed under Credit Management and shows last active shows as Jan 1, 2005. It doesn't have any date of first deliquency listed on the credit report.

I have not payed or used this TW account since Jan 2001. I thought they weren't allowed to report past 7 years. I disputed it online but it comes back as verifed. How do I get them to show the correct date and thus remove it from my credit report?

Edit: I live in NC.

Message Edited by joe1234567890 on 04-06-2009 06:47 PM

Pull your reports directly from the CRAs. You can pull all 3 once a year via annualcreditreport.com for free. If you look in EQ, you'll find DOFD. For EX and TU, you'll see a drop off date. Subtract 7 yrs from that date to find DOFD.

Ok, for some reason two of the free credit reports are locked out and require me to mail them, but the EU one is showing schedule to be on record until Oct 2011, which puts DOFD in 2004. This date is completely bogus. The account was closed in 1/2001 and I have a bill with the same amount that the collection agency is showing for 4/2001. How should I push the issue to get this deleted?

I am also in NC, and have dealt with CMI, they were fairly easy to deal with. I would suggest sending them a DV since the account is clearly past SOL! If that doesnt work then i suggest going the "reaging debt" route. There is thread on the boards here that will tell you how to proceed!

Good Luck and keep us posted!

Ditto to the DV. Once you get a response, and they are pressing for a payment, then you can dispute each CRAs via mail with a copy of that final bill from the OC.
