topic Medical Bill in Rebuilding Your Credit

Hi. So, I recieved an alert stating that something new was on my credit report. Turns out that it was a hospital bill from August 2012. However, it has never been on my credit report. Obviously, they can report now but when will it drop off of my credit report? They can’t report 7 years from now correct? No payments have been made whatsoever. Trying to figure out what I need to do. Thanks!

Do you know when the date of first delinquency (DoFD) was? If it was truly August, then it should fall off your reports in August. Also, if you want it off NOW, I would call TU, ASK FOR A SUPERVISOR, and then request that they delete the collection due to it being too old. TU will delete 6 months early, EX 3 months early and EQ 1 month early. If you're in no rush, then you can just wait a few months and it should be off all of your reports soon.
