Removed Chapter 7 Early!!!

Howdy 🤠

Thanks to this wonderful forum! I didn't even know that you could have negative items removed early, especially BKs. My BK was filed 3/2010 and discharged 7/2010.

From what I've read, Chapter 7 remains on your report for 10 years from the filing date.

However, TransUnion will remove items up to 6 months from the date it's set to be removed.

Not exactly in the six month window (lining up exact dates) but I decided to just go for it.

On Wednesday, I filed dispute with Credit Karma and stated I was requesting EE.

Here we are Saturday and I received notification from Credit Wise that a public record has been removed from my credit report 😱

It's still too early to notice score change but according to FAKO, my score dropped 24 points. I seriously doubt my FICO dropped though.

Now on to Equifax and Experian. I plan to request in January.

I recently (Late July) contacted TU and got an EE on my BK7. If I recall, it took longer than a few days for Credit Wise to reflect the change and my FAKOs at CK jumped 50ish points, but I'm pretty sure it was not instantly. I waited a week or so then got my free TU CR from annual credit report to confirm. Once confirmed I went to CCT and paid the $1 for my FICO 8s, TU jumped 65 points.

I contacted EX once about an EE with no luck, so I decided to wait and let it fall of naturally, espcially considering some of the horror stories I've read about EX and EE. Just a couple weeks later EX dropped my BK7 naturally 3 months early. My EX FICO8 jumped 108 points.

You can expect a large jump in FICOs. I wouldn't be concerned with the FAKOs.

I wouldn't attempt an EE with EQ, and results are mixed with EX.

If you have no other derogs on file your Fico score has most assuredly risen and by quite a few points if you have done a robust rebuild.

I have two late payments from last year (silly mistakes) but nothing else. My oldest CCs are 9 years old and my car loan is 4 years. All accounts are on good standing. I was just approved for Discover with SL $12k in July and I've been paying it religiously.

TU removed mine 9mo early. And I tried EX without luck either but it also fell off on its own just before 3mo was approaching. Now waiting for EQ (should be next month)

That's awesome! Congrats! Looks like TU doesn't have a hard fast rule about six months but the others do.

Early Exclusion. Meaning the CRAs delete negative items off your reports earlier than they're supposed to come off naturally.
