Creditor And Closed Bank Accounts

This is a very specific question. Once a creditor can legally search for bank account assets are they only provided open accounts or can they get old records from a closed account? I know they have to go searching banks, I understand the basics, just not if banks allow access to closed 0 balance accounts.

my FICO is in the 700's, now that my accounts are stable, I'm trying to increase my knowledge base

Lexus Nexus is the usual database that creditors and collectors will access to see your banking history. If a creditor has a court order in hand to access your records the bank will comply. Why would a creditor want to search your closed bank records?
