Macy's/Citibank Charged-Off Account

Hello,

been following the forum for a couple months trying to rebuild my credit but I've run into something that I'm not sure I've come across.

I've read that Macy's was normally pretty good about PFDs so I thought I'd tackle that one first. However, I was just told that since my account is past the SOL, they can no longer accept any payments for the account. I was also told since it's been four years, they can't even look into the account beyond the balance owed.

Is this their normal response and I just have to keep calling? Or do I have other options?

Oh no, they can very much still take payment. What they can't do is sue you for it. The rep is mistaken. Also, they should be able to look up your account somehow. I would call again and keep asking, and if the frontline rep can't or won't help, escalate to a supervisor/manager.
