Hello myFico community! I've been a frequent visitor of this community since I started my rebuild journey in 2018. First and foremost this community has amazing members with great resources and information. Thank you for all the contributions. I am typically just lurking around reading post from others so you can consider me a shadow of sorts.

I want to keep this short and simple. My title may indicate the guidance I am needing. So here we go.

2018 I've started my rebuild journey. Going off of the great resource this community provides. I can happily say that excluding my utilization. I have resurrected my credit report to something less ugly. I have successfully PFD'd collection accounts. I have had success with GW letters.

I am down to two derogatories now.

First one is off a auto loan that eventually went into repossession. This eventually concluded with the OC hitting me with a repo, took the car, sold the car, made their money back and now reports as a closed account as a paid repossession. I've conceded to this one. I've already made many attempts with the OC. Auto loans are hard to win is my assumption. Just one I'm going to take the hit for.

Now the road bump.

SpeedyCash. I defaulted in 2015 which was when I took the loan out. Eventually it went into default and to my belief, SpeedyCash had Ad Astra as the DC. I took the hits from that time frame until 2018. Since Ad Astra was my oldest collections account I decided that would be my last account. I've got credit cards paid off, I'm feeling great about my progress. I believe I jumped from a low 520 to 650 through Experian from pro actively taking care of my credit. Fast forward 6/19/19. I was ready to address my final debt. I reached out to Ad Astra numerous times via email, phone calls, mail. I wanted to see what options they were willing to work with me. They ignored me. I should have been more aggressive but this time frame was also during my wife's first pregnancy. My credit was looking better and I was extremely busy with this new change in life. Fast forward to fall/winter 2019. The report was removed on all credit reports. I was shocked, confused, hesitant but optimistic. I thought, they decided to just remove it completely ( what was I thinking? )

Fast forward to today. A new report on Equifax and Experian has shown up. I took a 21 point hit.

It seems now National Credit Adjuster is showing on the report.

I can provide a screenshot if needed. But to summarize the report.

OC : SpeedyCash

NCA is reporting as a factoring company which shows this debt as being an open account. Now it does say they are a collections account but they are reporting as a factoring company too. The balance of the report seems correct to me as far as my memory can tell. I've read numerous nightmare stories with NCA. I don't understand why Ad Astra or SpeedyCash would have not worked with me to take care of this debt because I was ready to throw money at them.

This debt is going to be timelined to be removed off my report in October 2022. That sets me back a year on my plan.

My question is. What do I do? Do I have any case for a dispute? Should I just dispute so the correct reporting is done? Is this reporting correct? Should I just wait until 2022 for it to fall off?

Someone help me with this last road bump. There are no wrong answers. I just need guidance and direction.

IF NCA is collection on behalf of Ad Astra then I would contact ad astra and here is why:

https://www.adastrarecoveryservicesinc.com/update

I would start by contacting speedycash and find out who currently holds they debt, they should have that information. I currently have an NCA collection so I am interested in how this goes for you.

So this is interesting....

I have a CA also because of SpeedyCash (also from 2015) that also went to AD Astra for collections and then way before 7 years of reporting it magically dropped off my CRs.

But then.... NCA popped up almost exactly 2 months after AD Astra drops from CRs.

Wait for it...Then..... 17 days after appearing on my CRs....the CA from NCA *VANISHES* just as quickly as it appeared

AD Astra is much easier to deal with because they do PFD vs. NCA that *will not*. I am immediately contacting Speedy Cash today while there are no CAs reporting on my CRs to somehow resolve this so that way there is no stress about trying to fight for a PFD in the future when they decide to strike again! We will see how this goes!

So I am not too sure if my advice would be to advise to wait a couple weeks, because there is no guarantee this will be your situation, but it does feel awful familiar! Did AD Astra drop from your CRs too?

Funny enough, this dropped my FAKO 5pts, but then the removal brought it up 54? So strange. I am sure there is more to it, as some will say, but idk, that was the pt change on each date.

Date (this year) NCA was added to my CR

Dates when CAs were removed (also this year)

Do any of y'all have an update on this experience? Currently undergoing the same issue. I am almost positive I paid ad astra the full balance for a PFD 3-4 months ago. I am sure I reached out to them, problem is I can't figure out how I paid them through my statements. Mistake #1.

I paid off so many different collections at that time, I am worried I am mis-remembering. I know I spoke to them, but I am worried maybe I spoke to them and then it fell off and I never followed up. I am going to keep franticly searching my statements

What came of this for y'all? Ad Astra had originally reported the collection from 12/14, it fell off my report around 4/1. NCA opened the account 4/2, but just reported it today 6/2. I just pulled my 3b and it only shows up on experian as well. I am going to keep searching, I had cleaned up all my collection accounts prior to this and was excited about a mortgage in november with my wife. Hoping to resolve this some way some how. any advice or previous experience is greatly appreciated.

I spoke to speedycash, they transferred me to ad astra (I didn't know but is owned by speedy cash as a separate business. ) Ad astra had no record of payment, I can't find it on a statement so I believe them. The original speedycash rep told me it was sold to nca, I asked her to transfer me anyways to ad astra. Ad astra told me that NCA is collecting on their behalf because they have too much workload. Ad astra rep told me if I pay nca, nca will report to ad astra and that they will then delete it. Going to take her up on that offer, asssuming nca tells me something similar when I call to pay. Ad astra told me specifically nca did not own the debt. Just an update to anyone else in this similar situation, there is hopefully some good news.

They have been on my CRs for some time.

I settled/PFD with them 1 month ago (exactly) and received the letter in the mail that SpeedyCash was "PIF". Sinple and short, 1 sentence letter lol

Now here today I have been patiently waiting for them at a *minimum* to update my CRs to reflect that the balance is $0 and hopefully deleted asap. Not a single bit of movement on any if the 3Bs yet. No balance update and definitely no deletion, yet.

I understand things may be moving slower or they perhaps only update on the 1st of the month (per my CRs), but here we are, past the 1st and still nothing.

I hope you get some resolution to this. It should fall of naturally by end of next year, but seem like you want to buy a house, so definitely an issue.

I agree that you need to go through Speedy Cash or AD Astra, because my experience is the NCA will not PFD, period!

I spoke with NCA, they stated they bought it and have reported it to all 3 CB's. Looks like it's just gonna be a PIF and then fall off in 2021? Ad astra hasn't been reporting for a couple of months now. If NCA is reporting it from 4/2020 is it going to be seen as restarting the debt? Or will it still fall of in 2021 after the 7 years? I'm worried a new fresh collection pif is going to torpedo any chance at a mortgage..it's unfortunately going to be my only collection account. I know they really focus on the last 2 years and I'm wondering how they will see this.

Hi Everyone. Could someone let me know about how long Ad Astra was reporting before it dropped off and was replaced by NCA? I'm in a similar situation and am following everyone's progress. Thanks so much.
