If you have credit reports that show on time up to the file date. Then you filed. Then you can let your lawyer know negative items were placed on your reports after the file date. Which is against BK laws and fines can be issued to the creditors who made these inaccurate entries. DC doesnt mean anything. Its the file date before and after.

Late payments with chapter 7?

I am 5 years post chapter 7 and I am starting to take a better focus on my credit recently. Something I found interesting is that I had no late payments but once I put the lenders on notice and obviously stopped paying my debts until it was discharged they show on my credit as late accounts. Is there anyway to dispute that since you were not late and when they were put on notice accredits to the bankruptcy? I find it weird that I have those on there when essentially it should have just been a frozen account or been removed part of the bankruptcy. Anybody have experience or knowledge with this?

Are you saying these late payments were before you filed? If they were before you filed, then they stay. It doesn't matter that you told them you were going to beforehand. You don't have protections until you do file. People could just say they're going to file and stop paying without penalty.

No, I paid until it was filed in court. That's why I'm wondering why I have late payments on my profile
