Hello:

We are pushing our 18-month mark from filing Chapter 7 BK. We have really recovered quickly and we are really happy about that. We would like to both get the Apple Card from GS. After we get that card, we would close some sub-prime cards such as Credit One. Any recommendations on how long they would take to approve someone with my credit data? When they decline me, the reason is recent BK. We are 18 months from the date we filed and we never had an account with them before so not sure how long they will hold "recent". We haven't paid any bills late since the BK.

I am really not sure what gives with Apple. I applied multiple times starting this past March so about 3 months ago. I was denied and put on the path to Apple program, although I never read their emails lol.

I have a number of lates on my reports as well as a 2 year old CO. They stated my past payment history, as the initial reason for denial. Then I tried maybe 3 more times, the last 2 they gave the CO as reason for denial.

After reading this thread I decided to try again right now just out of curiosity. This time I was approved for $1200 @Anonymous.99%. I hit the no thanks button.

I used the shopping cart trick all but the first time.

It's actually a card I would not mind having for the 3% cash back, I just really don't want another hard pull right now, I went on an app spree and got 3 cards 2 months ago.

Thought I'd chime in here, both my wife and I filed for BK 13 with a 5yr plan on 07/2016. (October 2019) My wife apps for Apple and gets approved SL $1500 w/low to mid 600 scores from both Fico8/9. I was rejected with income $150K citing "past due late" as their reasons which were inaccurate as I have NO lates on my credit before or after filing for BK. I'm well into my rebuilding since discharge so don't need the card but I still find myself checking on a pulse if GS will chance their mind. Till this day, i'm met with Apple Card denials and I'm dying to know "why" or what is my credit profile that GS doesn't like - trying to crack the code.

Research from CoreLogic, ChexSystems and Innovis all come back clean. I've done the freezing and unfreezing on ChexSystems, Apple SCT along with the wallet app ------ nothing, nada "0". So it's interesting how GS leverages their algo's to deny some yet approve others.
