Capital One Goodwill Letter Denied....What now?

So I've emailed twice my goodwill letter in the past 2 weeks and finaly received a call today. The lady on the phone was so nice that I thought for sure she was going to tell me that they were going to remove the 2 late payments from my account. But no, she told me in a very polite way "We received your letter and have processed and unfirtunately there is nothing we can do and cannot make any adjustments". Very dissapointing.

What should I do now? Should I send the same letter again? should I modify it and resend it? should I snail mail it vs email. I know I have nothing to lose to keep trying. Would like to know if anyone here got the same denial and was then succesful in getting them removed and if so how.

I would suggest you have the mods move this thread to the rebuilding section for better overall exposure to your question.

Also in that forum you'll find multiple active threads where Capital One customers have received GW adjustments very recently. That being said, don't take no for an answer and continue to ask.

Send out your letter again if you feel good about how it's constructed. If not, make revisions first and then send it out. Search online for as many Capital One mailing addresses as possible. If you find 5, send 5 letters. If you find 18, send 18 letters etc. One letter in and of itself IMO doesn't usually get the job done. Now you keep trying if you really want it removed. I'd revise your letter as advised above, though. Perhaps don't say "goodwill removal," but rather "exclusion" of whatever you're trying to get removed. I'm sure they said something along the lines of "we must report accurately," correct? In that case your response is something like, "I understand you must report accurately by law. But the law also says you don't have to report anything at all. Therefore, I'm kindly asking for exclusion of [insert late payment here]."

I received a GW on 4 baddies. I emailed the CEO explained my situation and kindly asked if they would be willing to give a second chance. All removed and I haven't been late since

ceoemail.com is a good place to get emails. Cap-1 is there.
