I had a Sprint account that was in collections. I paid the amount in full directly to Sprint. Now, my CR shows Sprint as a paid collection. What can I do, if anything, to have this account removed from my CR?

Unfortunately, as it was valid, there is not much that we can recommend you do. What you should've done and should do with any other baddies, if there are any, is to PFD with the OC.

The best course of action at this point is to go to the individual/department that you paid and write a GW letter to them.

Yes, a paid collection is no better than an unpaid collection from a scoring standpoint. So, if you can get if removed, then it's better for you. The paid collection does look better than an unpaid collection during a manual review.
