Aside from continuing the goodwill route or finding the CEO's email somewhere here on the forums I think you're going to have to tough it out. The damage of the late payments is done so you might as well keep the cards open and continue building a positive payment history. As much as it sucks the more the lates age the less they will effect your scores and the time will pass faster than it seems hopefully. Just realized that depending on the annual fee situation with Credit One it might be worth closing but that's up to you.

Good day,

I currently have 5 late payments on my credit report for two credit cards: First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO, formerly TCF) and Credit One.

I opened both of these credit cards in 2016. The FNBO started as secured and graduated to unsecured about a year later with a $300 CL.

The Credit One card has always been unsecured.

FNBO reported 2 late payments in 12/2017 and 1/2018 and Credit One reported 3 late payments in Oct, Nov, and Dec 2017. These were all due to unemployment on my part.

However, 4 years later and I'm still suffering from these late payments after making consistent on-time payments since to both cards.

I tried writing Goodwill letters numerous times to both credit card companies, but was unsuccessful.

The most recent attempt was this week and both companies gave me the usual verbiage of having to follow FCRA guidlines in reporting accurate information. I even received a "presidential" letter from Credit One stating the same.

FNBO will not budge on the credit limit as well. It's been $300 since 2016. Even worse, is that whenever I request a credit limit increase, they do a HP and deny the increase, mostly due to the late payments.

Any advice or tips on what I can do next to help my credit score, which is sitting in the low 600s across all bureaus. I'm thinking about just closing these accounts, but don't want my credit score to drop even more.

Thank you.
