Help me understand!! OC and CA both reporting same debt.

Hi, I'm trying to rebuild my credit asap. I have a charge off from first access (bank of missouri) who is reporting the charge off to all 3 credit bureaus.. and they sold the debt to resurgent who is also reporting to all 3 bureaus as collections with a balance owed. Resurgent says if I pay, they will delete the collection from my report. But I want the charge off gone as well. What should I do? Try to contact bank of Missouri? I'm new to a of this.

Theres so such thing as ASAP with credit. Comes down to who owns it. If there is a balance showing on First Access. They own it and Resurgent is collecting on their behalf. Once the collections is gone and FA 0's out the balance you'll see a score change. The CO is there to stay. No one deletes a CO. It will stick around until 7yrs +/_. Then drop off.

Unfortunately the CO with Bank of Missouri is there to stay. But the Resurgent collection will be deleted as they say once you pay in full or settle with them, so you can still clean up your reports a little.
