CreditOne Goodwill Attempt

Hello everyone, new to the forum and just wanted to share what I'm currently attempting with Creditone. I read on here in a few different threads that people have had success getting late payments removed with Creditone so I'm attempting myself to have this done. I have 3 lates from last year. 2-30 day and 1-60 day. I have 2 credit cards with CreditOne and have always paid on time otherwise. I have had these cards for over 3 years. These late payments caused my score to plummet from 680 to 550. My payment history according to creditkarma is 98% because of these lates. I am attempting to get these removed so my payment history will go back to 100% and hopefully pick my score back up.

It is currently Sunday and I made all contact attempts yesterday (Saturday). I actually just called Creditone and eventually was able to speak to someone directly, I explained the situation and he said that i've always been a good customer so he put in a request to have these removed from my credit history. He said there will be an answer within 7 days. I also emailed the primary contact in customer service which can be found using a simple google search. Fingers crossed!

Will do..haven't heard anything yet but it's only been 1 business day. I've read other threads that say they get an automated resonse hours after emailing..I never recieved that but like i said, I did call on the phone as well and he said I should hear something within 7 days

I recently got them to delete 2 lates I had with them. I emailed the CEO and recieved notice that they would delete that same week. Good luck!

Best of luck. C1 gets a lot of flak. But they do more GW's than anyone else. They dont like losing customers. So your chances are pretty good. Let us know how it goes.

@FireMedic1 They removed a CO CC from my report without request less than 24 months after it was charged off, but the LVNV collection stayed until I paid it.

They seem to have a short memory and would rather give people multiple chances than hold a grudge. Probably make good money off the interest. lol

They sent me a letter today and said "the account has been reported accurately"

I already it's accurate but I was asking for goodwill forgiveness. Maybe my letter wasn't clear enough??

They said the account in question has been reported accurately..maybe they misunderstood my request? I'm not saying it's not accurate, just asking for forgiveness.

Write back and explain that you understand it's accurate and by law they must report accurately, but by law they also don't have to report anything at all. In other words, you're asking for exclusion/not reporting of those months you were late.

Called them today and explained everything, after a few minutes on the phone and a couple questions, the rep said she took the late payments off my account!!!!! SO STOKED!

Could take up to 60 days if they really do follow through with what they said.

@rudywswartz congrats! Give it some time. I was so anxious to see my scores after victories like yours....I had to remind myself that I did not ruin my credit overnight and I am certainly not going to fix my credit overnight likewise. You did your part, trust the process now!!! Let us know when it reports!

One of the late payments came off (one of the 30 day lates) but the other 2 are still on there. Credit score only went up 3 points with the one removal. I'm hoping it will go up more when the other 30 and the 60 come off.

This response/comment is a bit old but it's exactly where I keep getting stuck. Wondering if you can point me in the right direction..

I'm not the OP, just a similar situation.

The OC (Old Navy) says: we can waive the late fee but it will still show up on your report.

I suggested they just do not report the info and they are obligated to. I said I am not asking them to change how they report, just forgive the late fee. They seemed genuinely confused on how they would do this. They kept saying they had to. Can you help me with the terminiology? I know there's a phrase I can use that references the Fair Credit reporting agency (or something like that?)that I can refer to but I'm searching the group and can't find it.

Also, the late is from 2016 and account hasn't been updated since 2019. So, they are already not reporting...so if they did report on a closed account, then they would have to report accurately...which would show the Late. Or, are you saying they should just report other months but skip the one late?

Thanks...I know I should be doing other things but I'm stuck on this and driving myself nuts.
