Accounts Removed

If 2 collections are removed from one credit agency will they be removed from the other credit agencies? I had 2 Portfolio Recovery collections from two different companies and they decided to remove both from my Equifax report. I do not know why. I hope they will delete them from my other reports as well.

They're supposed to come off all reports, yes. But if you didn't pay them, and they removed them on their own, then that means they likely sold the account to a new collection agency.

They said they don't sell debts to other collection agencies

Who's "they"? Like did you call in and ask a representative? Cause they're not always the most knowledgeable.

The other thing I forgot to ask is, how old are these debts? By that I mean the original account's DOFD, or Date of First Delinquency, which is when the account first went delinquent and never became current again.

Yes a representative said it and I read it in their FAQ's

The DOFD is in 2018 for one and 2019 for the other

Where they medical related? New law in effect medical collections under a certain amount isn't supposed to be reported any more

No, it means they have sent the account to legal and they are getting ready to sue. This tactic of temporarily deleting the trade line(s) prior to suing is to eliminate FCRA and FDCPA counter claims.

They will remove them but the reason isn't good. They have most likely sent the file to legal and are getting ready to sue. Deleting the trade lines while litigation is in progress is to prevent counter claims.
