Bills delinquent after getting robbed

So I was in a Walmart parking lot right under their security cameras and a person walked up and asked for directions. As I reached out the window to point he reached under my arm and snatched my purse off my lap.

By the time I was able to get to a phone he'd already cleaned out my bank account. Apparently cash app makes this easy to do.

I didn't have money to put gas in my car to get to work the next day.

The police were called I got a report number and they basically said if you ever see him again let us know.

I am 7 hours away from home. Even if friends and family wanted to send me something he got my driver's license. I can't even get cash out of my own bank account that I've been with for 18 years. But a thief can clean me out.

I already have a bill hit TransUnion is being late. Drop my score 118 points. The only negative on my credit report.

Does getting robbed have any influence if I write them a letter. Just asking

Oh and Walmart caught it on video because the thief was actually in the store shopping before he went into the parking lot and robbed me.

Also I was trying for a balance transfer to at the very least be able to pay my credit card bills but don't have the credit card numbers because he got the cards. And you cannot get them particularly from American Express.

So sorry this happened to you . When did this happen ? I am just trying to figure out how the late bill reporting pertains to this ? You have to be over 30 days for them to report.

Did you contact your bank immediately you should be able to recoup what was stolen ? How do you pay your bills , online ? The first thing you should have done was to call all your creditors and they will close those account numbers and issue you new ones

Sorry for this. You should have already called all your creditors. Even without the credit card numbers, they can look up your account. One question...were you already 29 days past your due date when this happened? I'm confused.

Sorry this happened. Timeline is off it seems. Or this wasnt typed in order. Did you go back into the store then to call the police right after it happened? This cash app. Where was the money sent to from the app once you got another phone? More info for law enforcement to track him down. You can/could have gone to the bank with your SS card and other monthly bills/statements from the bank to get a new account/debit card. Plus they could see where the $ was transferred to. More proof. Same at the local DMV with the police report to get a duplicate DL. This could have been done in a day. Call all creditors to shut down credit accounts. Go to the bank branch for new account. Now how did a late occur from this incident? From what you posted. Appears some days went by and nothing was done. Could you place it in order as events happened? If PD was called from Walmart and you got a report #. Next stop should have been the bank where your $ sits for gas and living expenses and bills. Need more timeline on the moves in order of events please. If you haven't done so also. You can disable the phone Google Android find my device. iPhone not sure.

Phone can also be disabled with Find my iPhone, if it's active on the device.

I am also confused about the timeline. My first call, after police, would have been my bank to lock down any checking or savings account(s) tied to any apps on the phone. Second call would have been to credit card companies for the affected cards to shut those down as well. Everything else would wait until those things were done, to mitigate losses. After that, I'd work on locking my credit with all the bureau's, just in case, as well as replacing license, etc.

How long ago did this happen? The 30 day late seems to indicate it was quite some time ago, unless there was already a bill that had gone past due prior to the robbery. If it is an account that you've had for a while and all of this happened due to that theft, I'd contact them with the police report and see if there is anything they can do to goodwill the late. It's not something I'm familiar with, but if I were in your shoes I'd definitely give it a try, can't hurt.
