Late Payment Knocked me 50 points??

Need a little advice. So I had had great payment history for the past two years before Covid hit. I missed 1 payment and my credit score dropped around 50 points. This happened because I set up for auto payments and it didn't go through. After I saw the alert, I paid the balance and in the following months, I completely paid off the account . Before I paid it off, I asked if they could remove the late payment based on good prior payment history. They denied me. Went to CFPB and did a complaint, they responded that they wouldn't remove. The account is closed but can I still try and get the late payment off?

Yes, you can continue to request GW from the creditor even if the account is closed. How bad was the late payment, was it only 30 days late? If so then it may not be hurting your score that much if it occurred several years ago.

Thank you for responding. It was earlier this year, in January and 30 days late.

Ok well in that case I'd for sure keep trying with the GW requests given that it's less than a year old.
