Transunion updated my status date after dispute

I was disputing some incorrect information on an account and transunion deleted all payment information on this charge off and updated the status date from 2019 to 2023. Does the status date reset the time on when this item will be removed from my credit? Please help.

No, it doesn't change the date it's eligible for removal which would be based on the date the account first went late that led to the CO.

Just curious. What was incorrect? Even if things were changed. The ding from a CO remains the same.

The account was showing CO and then paid on time and then CO again in my payment history after being charged off. So I disputed it....my results is they deleted the payment history to ND(no data) and they also updated my status date to Aug 2023. My other account has a payment status date of the day I went delinquent. I posted a screenshot

There is no payment section. They deleted it. No matter where I pull my report no payment history exists.

It might show up next month again. Disputes at time they'll remove some info or the entire account until the investigation is over. And back it comes. Did you get results yet?

Have you tried annualcreditreport.com? Theres no DoFD on that snip.

The "Status Updated" field is just the as-of date for the account information shown; it's the last time the lender sent information on that tradeline to the credit bureau. As stated above, this doesn't affect the fall-off date for a negative tradeline. It can affect how a CO is scored, tho, since, if a lender isnt updating monthly, the CO will appear to the algos to be aged until the dispute causes a new update, at which point it will be scored as a recent delinquency.

Ok I have pulled my credit report from 5 different locations. And I also got a credit report in the mail directly from TransUnion! It has not payment history. None, zip, zero.

Well let time do its thing. From your siggy it isnt the only CO. Disputing and winning a dispute wouldnt have changed anything. Its still a CO. And it can mess things up as you have experienced by disputing. They'll all fall off 7yrs from the first late that led to the CO status.
