AMEX Account Suddenly Transferred To Transworld Systems, INC. Help

Hello!

So on 2021, I had one of my AMEX accounts closed due to financial emergency and ever since then I've been in 'payment arrangement' with AMEX. To setup this payment arrangement with AMEX, I had provided an autopay method. Fast forward to earlier this month, the payment for December had not been deducted from the AutoPay as scheduled but I didn't worry until Dec 16th when I received a call from Transworld Systems regarding the account had been transferred over to them due to being past due for over 30 days.

The problem here is that, the account was never past due. In the months prior to December, the autopay has successfully deducted funds from my bank and that was applied to the balance. The only one that did not go through was December's and I've checked that the autopay information is still there.

My question is, has anyone dealt with Transworld Systems? The remaining balance of the account is something I can pay off entirely but this is an issue due to the principal; how can you transfer over an account claiming to be past due, when the account is current and on autopay?
