old collection debt

got a letter for a desposition zoom conference call for a old debt from 2011 that is no longer on my credit report. Doesnt the SOl apply here or am i missing something? sounds like they want to sue me if i dont show up

Depositions usually happen after you've already been sued.

You might want to check with a lawyer and see what's up. If a lawsuit is filed after the SOL is up, you may be able to get the lawsuit dismissed.

i think that is best to talk to a lawyer this is the first letter i got from this collection agency about this debt.

by the way its from captial one i did pay a old debt with capital one back in 2016 but they are claiming this is another one

Was the letter from the court or debt collector?

My understanding is that you can be sued after the sol, the sol is an absolute defense, but only if you show up and invoke it.

Sounds like a lawyer would be a good idea.

talked to a lawyer i guess they still can collect sol doesnt apply since there is a judgement and that last 20 years all this happen in 2013 kinda remember but 2010 -2014 was some tough years for me. Going to setup a payment plan and get this behind me

I have 5 collections from LVNV. The SOL runs out by Jan 2026. I received letters from the court as they are suing me for the unpaid balances ranging from $1700 to $4500. Should I wait until SOL or should I try and make payment arrangements for thes collections?

The SOL is tolled (stopped) once they file suit. If they have already filed against you then it won't matter if the cases are not heard before the SOL runs out in January 2026. As long as the suit(s) were filed before the SOL ran out they are timely and can proceed.
