Let me backtrack, who's reporting, OC, CA, or both? If it's just the CA, then just ask the OC to pull the account back from the CA since you're paying them directly.

Hi all,

I recently moved to a new place and had to open an acocunt with Xcel for electric. When I spoke with the gentleman from Xcel on the phone he stated I had a past balance due (which was sent to collections and is on my report) he told me he could set up a payment plan and just combine the past due amount with my new charges month to month. My question is this-Since I am now paying Xcel directly-shouldnt this come off my report when I am done paying the past due amount?

Thanks

No, simply paying a past due debt won't remove it from your credit history. You would need to contact them to ask if they would remove the collections listing since you're repaying it.

Should I do that when I have paid in full? Or can I call Xcel now as I am in the process of paying? And to they contact the CA then-to stop the reporting?
