First Premier (OC) is reporting on my CRA as CO. It is outside of SOL.

I don't even want to bother w/ PFD letters, so what is the proper way I go about paying them? Should I call them to find out payment address?

Also, if I pay them will it re-age my account at all? It is due to fall off January 2011, so that won't change if I pay it off, correct?

Message Edited by SydLo on 08-07-2009 01:11 AM

I also had a CO with FP and they did not have a CA reporting on my credit report.Send in a check and put your account number on it. They'll cash it. They cashed my check . You probably won't have any luck by calling them, it seems that if you input your account number or social over the phone, they'll probably tell you to deal with the CA.

Now, they cashed the check on Jul 21 but have not updated the balance on my account, so I disputed it with the CRA's....By paying them you are avoiding another potential collection, even though it will drop soon..

I used the address on my cr - 3820 N Louise Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57104.

Sorry I can't answer your question about re aging....

It s all quite simple.

Just pay the OC. No conditional endorsements, other than payment in full.

If the OC cashes the check, debt is gone, as are the CAs, who must then delte.

But the CO that the OC previously reported wont drop from your CR until 7 1/2 years from the DOFD on the OC account.

If the DOFD on the OC acount was 3/2004, the CO will contiunue to post until 9/2011.

Hello, I understand you cannot find your original account number with FP. I put that number on my check when I mailed it to them, You can't call them because they are going to tell you to call the CA. Is the account number listed on any of the letters you recieved from the CA? Sometimes a CA will include that information.

Thanks for replying!

The problem is that I don't have *any* info on a CA for this account.

My only option is going to be to call FP to get any info, I think.

Hello,

Call First Premier. If you don't have your account number, I think they'll take your social. At that point, they will most likely tell you to call the CA, at least that is what happend to me. But i found my account number, cut them a check, and it was cashed...balance reports zero now...the CA didn't show up on my credit report....if the CA was on the credit report then that's a different story...

I would avoid however, lesson learned, never to call a CA. Just don't do it. This can wake a sleeping giant and the CA could end up reporting on all three reports before you know it....trust me on this.... I did and now I have more problems....that could have been avoided...

Thanks, Daisy!

Did you get your account number directly from FP then?

I'm not calling a CA. If FP owns my account (which obviously they do or else they would not be reporting) then I will deal with FP. If they refuse to discuss the account with me and try to pawn me off on a CA then I guess I'll just send them a check & see what happens from there.
