CA requested delete and closed account on their end.

but EQ won't remove it! What is my next move? I have the letter from the CA saying they requested deletion..(the other CRAs removed it)

How should I handle this?

EQ has been doing this a lot lately. They have to delete the TL if the CA tells them to.

Maybe it just has not updated with them yet. If it is on there the next time you pull your report I would file complaints with the BBB, AG in your state and the FTC.

You can always send a copy of the letter from the CA but they will probably tell you they can not use it and will do their own investigation. (Even though you are not disputing).

Oh good..then i'm not the only one with crappy luck?! It has been since July, so I think i'll do as you suggest right away, today's (CCT) report shows no change. I've never filed a complaint with the BBB. Would this result in a delete?

Maybe I should send the CRA a letter with my intent and give them a last chance..or don't they care?

I've decided to send this off today....if I get nothing, I'll file a complaint.

Dear Equifax,

You are in receipt of a request to delete a med1 collection from First Federal Credit Control from my credit report. This request was sent to you mid July and still remains on my report.

I have in my hand the letter from First Federal Credit Control stating their request to delete and because of this, you are obligated to comply. I feel I have given you ample time to respond to this request.

Please take care of this matter ASAP as I do not want to have to file complaints with the BBB and FTC.

I look forward to your prompt response in this matter.

CRA's can easily take up to 45 days to update. VERY frustrating. Try faxing the letter you received from the CA to them. That might nudge them along. I had this problem with TU. EQ and EX deleted within 48 hours. TU didn't delete for a week after I sent them a fax and attached a copy of the letter the CA faxed to me.
