While searching through the forums, I saw that someone found that after the account has been paid, it is removed after one year from payment. Since this is from 2005, I definitely need to give them a call!

I have only one collections from October 2005. It has already fallen off my Equifax report, but it shows closed on Experian and open on Transunion. The thing that makes me mad though is that I let an account go to collections over 77 bucks. Wish I could go back to when I was 18 and tell myself how this would affect my credit score for so long I'm going to try to gw this account, it's over library fees from Unique. Hope it works!

I think I've been reading that most collections from libraries have only been reporting to TU. Good thing for you is that it's only on TU. Other than lines of credit that would require pulling from all three (mortgage, Navy Credit Union CC's, car loans etc), you probably won't have many companies pulling reports from TU.

Who's your CA? Is it a paid collection?

It's still on my Experian, it's just reported as closed. It has been paid when I first found out it was in collections, but that was also 4 years before I knew about this site But I'm trying to fix it now. It's on experian and transunion, even though I only have like one inquiry on transunion. The rest are from experian and equifax. I applied for navy fed, and they pulled equifax, which is great because it doesn't have the collection on there. I sent a gw to try to get it removed, so I will see how that goes and update! Still waiting on my navy fed response, will probably call tomorrow!

TU tends to report "open" on most everything. Per FICO scoring, a collection is a collection. It is scored the same and would still fall off as scheduled.

I know. I could kick myself for my past stupidity for such little things.

Who's the CA? Maybe someone here has a insider hookup for getting it deleted from all of them? It's also possible you could get the library to get the CA to delete it for you. Might have luck there. GW them. And don't give up if you get denied on your first GW try. Keep at it.

The ca is unique national collections. They don't post a lot of contact information on their website, mostly about if you want their services. I sent a goodwill to the library director. Since I'm in Iraq right now I don't really want to have to wait for it to get all the way to the states, and then wait again for a reply through the mail. I know it doesn't look that good, but we will see how this goes I guess! Has anyone else had a successful experience with them? Good contact info? Would be greatly appreciated!
