I've searched but came up empty.

Does Experian take its sweet time deleting collections? I had 3 collections deleted by Transunion and Equifax 1-2 days after the CA put in the request to delete. Experian still shows the collection some 16 days later. What are your experiences with Experian deletes?

Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

EX is the biggest pain in the rear for me. Most of the time they don't want to do anything more than a quick e-oscar check and with me they won't let me open an investigation on something they've already verified. I've had to send them MOV's before they'll do anything.

You may want to give them a full 30 days though, since that's probably the excuse they'll give you if you call them.

Experian is the absolute worst. Trans Union is the fastest in my experience. TU disappeared in less than 24 hours. Experian took almost 28 days later.

I agree with above! EX is a PITA. They think they've got us all by the "bleep!" & do what they can to tick us off...like keep our FICO's from us.

I always have a fairly good outcome with EQ & TU. I keep an eye on EX, but overall....I pretend like they don't exist. I don't care what that FICO is...I just assume it's the worst...just like them.

Hey guys i just put in a couple of disputes with TU and EX and EX responded within 2 days and had 2 judgements and 3 co deleted. TU on the other hand is showing 3 of 6 completed but won't get the status until it is finished. It's been about 11 days but i don't mind. I also had a question. In my area CSC takes care of EQ accounts. Should i fax them my disputes? or should i mail them in?

Hi Busta,

I don't recall EX being slow with me. I had five inquiries recoded to soft. I logged in one day and it said they were in dispute or something like that. the very next morning, they were gone.

I'm sure at one point i had a collection on that report. I don't recall them being super slow. I can only share that EX got rid of my one bad Citi account two months before it dropped. they also had another baddie that was due to drop Sept 09, in mid sept, I circled it, enclosed a note via fax and said, hey guys, this account is ready for the graveyard, please delete. next day it was gone....

Sometimes things don't work like they should. I've had a collection with this company Trojan (my dentist office, a mistake in billing )and they deleted it back in 06...fast forward to 09, it made its way back on? wtf..I called the CA having spent thousands on my teeth recently, I'm sure that my dentist would tell them to remove post haste..they did. I then called the CA to follow up...i spoke to the lady who had my account...told me from 06 she had already done the request and got confirmation....she had to resubmit the request and it was gone. In 24 hours....this CA had no reason to play games, Guess where I didn't have much success? Disputing it with the bureaus. It came back "verified"...yep.

So with this little story, disputing Ca's with the bureaus, in my opinion, does not work....you have to go back to the CA and tell them it's still on. I would not wait any longer than 30 days and call them every day. be a pain in the arse. keep calling. this is daisy's world. squeaky wheel gets the grease!!

Wait until EX drops my two paid positive mortgages, never late. I won't love them so much when they take good away early...

I dont know the facts in your CR, but it may not necessarily be the fault of EX.

CAs report separately to each CRA. The OC was obligated to report the DOFD to each CRA, and this controls the drop-off date of any subsequent CA related to that OC account at 7 1/2 years from the OC reported DOFD.

If you are sure of the DOFD on the OC account, and that 7 1/2 years has expired from that DOFD, file a dispute with the CRA for inaccurate reporting under FCRA 611(a), and possible inaccurate reproting of DOFD by the OC under FCRA citing the basis as the statutory drop-off date specified in FCRA 605(c).

Proposed letter:

"This is a dispute under FCRA 611(a) for inaccurate and incomplete reporting of information to my credit file, AND SEPARATELY, and additionally, a dispute of your improper inclusion of a collection account in my credit report beyond the 7 1/2 year period set forth in FCRA 605(c).

"My records show that I had an account with the original creditor, (name), and had a first default with that original creditor on (date).

"Under FCRA 623(a)(5), the original creditor was required to have provided to you the accurate date of first default within 90-days of any referall for collection, so the DOFD on the original creditor account must by in your files, and must be accurate. According to my records, it apparently is not.

"Since my records show that that the date of first default (DOFD) on the the original creditor account was more than 7 1/2 years ago, this leads to two possible conclusions, both of which lead to investigation of inaccurate reporting by both the original creditor, or the collection agency. Either the original creditor posted an incorrect DOFD with you, or you are continuing to include this collection account in my CR beyond the 7 1/2 year period set forth under FCRA 605(c).

"I request investigation of my dispute beyond the typical automated E-OSCAR process, for this dispute requires manual and supervisory review, due to its complications, and multiple sources of potential violation of the FCRA. You cant code this under one number in E-OSCAR, so it is not an appropriate verification porcedure. I thus request personal, supervisory review of this dispute.

"As part of this dispute, I thus additionally request, under FCRA 611(a)(6)(B)(iii) that you provide me a full description of the procedure you have used to determine the accuracy and completeness of information that forms the basis for this dispute, including the business name and address of any furnisher of information that you contact in your verification process.

"Resolution requries an investigation of what the original creditor reported to you regarding the date of first default, and additional investigation of what the collection agency has reported to you beyond 7 1/2 years from that date. Under FCRA 611(a)(2)(B), you are required to supply all relevant information I have provided regarding this dispute to both the original creditor (NAME) and the collection agency (NAME), regarding their disputed reporting to my credit report, within five days of recepit of this letter, and to communicate the results of their investigation, and your re-investigation of their findings, back to me within 30 days of this date of this letter, or delete the collection account from my credit report."

"

Message Edited by RobertEG on 10-20-2009 12:11 AM

Message Edited by RobertEG on 10-20-2009 12:34 AM
