paying a CA with Creditcard on thier website?is it Safe?

My step Brother have a charged off account with a CapOne, in collection, the CA is the owner, We talked to them and they said they will remove it if we pay in full($1800)

we already have the letter saying they will(on letter head, signed/dated)

Now he does not have that muh CASH right now, so He is going to use his CC, my question is, is it OK if He pay it off using my credit card on thier website?? I am asking this as I have seen many people saying not to give your account to CA.

I dont see how paying by credit card requires you to disclose account information to the creditor. I dont see the problem?

Who is reporting? Is it Cap1, the CA, or both? Did your brother DV the CA? Is this debt within the SOL?
