I have a couple of paid collections showing on my credit report still, is it possible to get them removed? What is the best thing to do with these?

if you've already paid them really the only way or hope of removal is with gw letters. how old are the accounts? dofd?

One account is from 2006, the other is from 2007.

I paid them both off in February 2009.

I have been reading about GW letters, is there one people use for this situation? And would I send it to the CA?

you can search around the forums and find several gw letters to be able to get a good idea for what to write. you'll want to send them to the ca and also to the oc to remove all traces of the tl from the credit report.

are they your only accounts?

I have another unpaid medical bill collection that is estimated to fall off my credit report 10/09 and unpaid school loan that I am disputing. My problem with my credit is all my good accounts have fallen off, so I have the few collection accounts reporting still, one account in good standing which is a paid off loan, I have tried to apply for store credit cards, but have been denied due to insufficient credit history. I applied for a secure card with BOA today, so hopefully that will go thru and I can start rebuilding credit.
