ive noticed I have a collection reporting twice on my EQ CR. how can I go about having one removed?

This happened to me - same debt, same account number, same creditor, same amount, same dates - reporting twice on the report.

I DVed and asked for separate validation of each one. They didn't reply after 45 days, so I sent a second DV referencing the first and stating that they can't continue to report until they validate. It was gone in a couple of days - *both* were deleted!

Is it the same CA reporting twice or two different CA reporting?

Same account, its been paid and is marked as paid but having the 2 collections showing up is hurting my score

Send a GW to the CA and tell them the account is reporting twice on you EQ CR.

And ask them to fix the situation, maybe try to word your letter to remove both of them.

Also you can dispute with EQ, as a duplicate account.

An OC and 1 CA can report on the same account.

Not 1 CA reporting the same account twice.
