570 Score, Interested in pay for deletes

So I made a lot of the same mistakes that most 18 year olds do, and I ran up about $2K in Credit cards. Now a few years later I am trying to rebuild back up to the 700 Club, Has anyone had any luck with the pay for deletes? Also, I just got my first collection call, since I have sent letters out to verify my debts, and I was shocked at how rude the collection guys are. I am currently at 570, Any tips would help.

Has anyone worked with MFS collection company? If I want to pay off this debt, which is Macy's. I want the account brought totally to current, or pay it and have the negative deleted, which is better to do?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had one success with a Verizon Wireless PFD. I sent dozens and dozens of PFDs to them (up to 12 per month for nearly a year) and had no success. Then I tried planetfeedback.com and then Verizon accepted the PFD. All I needed was a "yes". Never give up.

Never ever never talk to a CA. If they call, ignore it. Keep everything in writing. A CA's word is never their bond. They'll say anything to get you to pay.

If Macys still owns the debt (evidenced by them reporting a balance), and if you have the $$$ to PIF (you should never go after a debt if inside SOL and you don't have the $$$ to PIF), then call them and offer to PIF in exchange to have the account reopened. Some CSRs say yes and some say no. But with persistence and maybe some time, they'll reopen it for you...if interested. Macys is easy to deal with.
