Ok so I have had my credit stolen three times and I was irresponsible with my credit 10 yrs. ago but my score was 565 last week and I sent a letter to the credit bureaus to tell them which debts were mine and which were not. Well a few days later my score dropped 80 points. How the hell am I supposed to rebuild my credit from these people who stole my credit. I do not understand how I am supposed to feel good about the score going up and then just dropping it so abruptly. Can someone help me explain this?

My credit report is almost all student loans that I am delaying right now on forbearance. Then it is almost all medical bills some are mine but there are a slew of bills with someone that stole my credit and hyphenated my name and ran up bills. Then there is one or two utilities and one credit for some company I didn't buy from so it must be also stolen credit.

Help, should I just file bankruptcy would that be an easier way out of all those medical bills? And a faster way to rebuild credit? I was trying to do it on my own but now I am seriously depressed over it.

I had my credit stolen or identity theft 3 times in 15 yrs. The first two times I lived in a small town and Identity Theft was not heard of nor was it prosecutable by our local police because it was so hard to prove...Also when I called the credit card companies they told me I was responsible for all the bills on my credit report. It was terrible news so I just let it sit there because it was not my debt and it was not fair that I had to pay for it. The last time I left my wallet at a gas station and because I was not using my credit I never checked my credit report because I knew my credit was bad I thought no one could possibly make it worse... WRONG! They ran up a bunch of medical bills...Why would someone run up medical bills? I don't know. However, it is hard to prove as well because somehow they had used my insurance card as well (it was in my wallet) but how the medical offices did not check the ID of these people,,, I am disabled however so I have some medical bills of my own and I cannot convince the hospital and medical office which are my bills and which are not....SO what do I do?

As far as my credit report score dropping 47 points or 74 points whatever it was....I was on this Website and it was Equifax. The other two I cannot seem to get my score.. They will only give me what the list of collections but not the score itself. Would I be better off filing bankruptcy or should I go ahead and try to fix this myself?

sorry that you are a victim of identity theft i myself im a victim as well what you need to do is file a police report from the date that your papers were stolen also as soon as you get the police report send it to the 3 credit bureaus and then contact all the collections or medical places where you are being charge and advice that you are a victim of identity theft and that you will faxs the police report to them and do it to all the medical collections that you have and after that disputed with the 3 credit bureaus because from the time the bureaus contact them they will have your police repot as well after that they should delete all your medical bills but you need to pressure the medical companies who are showing on your report tell them its not you still they cant prove it. i myself did it with 7 medical collections and with in 45 days all my medical bills were deleted so now i have a 7 year fraud alert. but dont file for bankrupcy cause it will hunt you for 10 years and you will never get approved for any credit cards dont give up i just finished mine on 9/2009 so now im starting to rebuild hope it helps for you as well on the police report go ahead and add the collections or medical bills that arent yours its better. just tell them that youre a victim of identity theft.

hello hope you're better and yes when you file the police report you will tell them that you are a victim of identity theft and that they stole your papers back in 2004 when they broke into your car and that they stole your purse or wallet but remember tell them to put on the report that it happen since 2004 and that you had file it but you lost the old report still its your word against them or you can also put the date from your oldest collection that will help you better believe i know how it works but even if you have medical that are yours just denie it and tell them its not yours thats when you faxs the collection the information and also call them twice a week and tedll them that due to the medical collections ur not able to get a house and thats affecting you credit report as well with your credit score as of now my score went from 552 to 641 so hope it works for you just have faith and dont give up if you have to mail them 2 or 3 identity theft reports per week they will get tired and they will just deleted i myself even called them and argued with them and i told them hello havent you heard of identity being stolen i dont even go to the doctor and i wouldnt be arguing with you on the phone if it was mine. or just tell them can i speak to upper management and tell them that they have been using your documents in several states. mine are being used in5 states believe it. it really sucks but well im from texas and they use my papers alot in kansas and florida, pennsylvania, arizona and california. and i really dont know how they got a hold of them. so just keep on bugging them.
