You can either dispute as PAID..and company agreed to remove...it still will wait 30 days...you need that letter...if you have the letter...a mortgage company..can do a rapid re-score...and have it deleted within 72 hours...

I need to remove two old disputes that are still showing on my report, They have been resolved awhile ago, but the statements were never removed, apparently. Now I am trying to get a mortgage and I need them removed asap.

Can I just send a letter like you do when you create a dispute, only to remove it? What is the fastest way.

I called the comapanies that show the disputes and they say they are sending in the removal request, but that it can take up to 30 days to process. I don't have 30 days to wait. Will the credit bureaus accept letters from me to remove them, since I filed them?

Thanks in advance...

You are a little confusing with the wording...what do you mean send them a letter???...if the company sent you a letter...saying they will delete...via email..fax...or mail...the quickest way would be to fax the CRAs the DELETION letter...but you can't just type up a letter to the CRAs...saying the company agreed to remove...

It is JeanneD again, but for some reason it would not accept my login or recognize my login info, so I had to make a new ID. It's my first time here, maybe I don't know what I am doing....

Let me phrase the problem better, I hope:

1. I sent in dispute letters TO THE CREDIT BUREAUS in Feb 08 on two perfectly good, well-paid mortgage accounts - they aren't baddies and they are only a couple years old. I disputed because they both were refinanced into one loan in sept 06 but both reported 30 day lates for Oct 06 -impossible since I no longer had the loan with them. I have now sold that house. I did not know the 30 day lates were even there until I looked at my credit in Feb preparing to buy another house.

2. Both mortgages removed the incorrect 30 day lates for 10/06 in march but still have not removed the statement saying it is in dispute by consumer (this is on all 3 credit bureaus). There were no deletions, just a correction of status. I did not get any deletion letters. I did not realize the disputes were still there as active (It says disputed by consumer, etc next to each credit bureau) until my mortgage was being processed and it came up. These days everything is a problem. I need to get them off immediately.

3. Since I wrote the original dispute letters to each credit bureau causing the dispute, would sending a "remove dispute" letter to each credit bureau make them remove the dispute? I cannot find any info in web searches about how to remove disputes on accounts that you no longer want to dispute or that are resolved. I need to remove them ASAP.

Any help would be much appreaciated.

Message Edited by JeanneD2 on 06-09-2008 02:54 PM

Message Edited by JeanneD2 on 06-09-2008 02:54 PM

Message Edited by JeanneD2 on 06-09-2008 02:55 PM

It will fall off...once the dispute is fully resolved...do you mean the statement that says "consumer disputes account"...that's what it is...you disputed the account...that will remain...maybe if you would have contacted the OC first...so they can remove the lates...it wouldn't report like that...I believe you can't do anything about that...
