collection letters

Im getting collection letters from "creditcard companies" that I am past due on by 3-4 months. But the letter says to make a payment go to the creditcard website. (Etc. belk.com jcp.com lowes.com)

None of these "collection companies are on my credit report (pulled yesterday) so, what exactly does this mean. I have given the minimum to each of them (getting back on feet) so, what does this mean if they accept the payments? (which they have)

Since they sent you to the OC website, the OC probably owns the debt.

And since you paid the OC before a collections was added to your CR, they may not add one now.

I have gotten letters from CAs stating that if I make a payment or PIF before a certain date, they will not put it on my CR.

Are the accounts caught up to current?

some are NOT caught up...others are...but I made a minimum payment anyway. Thought that would show them that I understand I own the debt, and am trying to get caught up. I certainly dont want these accts to go to collections, and I certainly didnt ask for unemployment either. I hope they will work with me...afterall, they did accept the payment, hope that means something

Have you tried to talk to the CC companies? Explain your situation?

I would much rather deal with the OC any day.
