It's Cold Outside

Here's a wind chill map for today (1/15):

It says it's 12 degrees here in the DC area factoring in wind chill. The actual temp. is around 25. I guess we should consider ourselves fortunate in comparison to most of you reading this. Keep warm.

Edit to add....the map updates during to day I see. Our wind chill on 1/16 is in the single digits. It is -10 just 30 min. west from here.

Actual temp in SC is 45 degrees today.

Now don't start making those sounds under your breath, our time is coming this week. Forecast is 5 degrees on Saturday for us.

We southerners can't function at 5 degrees, yall! Our town will literally be a ghost town all day!

jedijennifer- Thanks for a laugh, I just read your goals for 2009.

Here is what I read:

Goals: Sell current house in 2009 (moving to fiancee's car).I couldn't help but think, -25 in a car? Outloud I said, "WHAT? Where's my glasses?"

Whew!, then I read it correctly, fiancee's house! LOL! I knew I should have had on my glasses!

Sounds like you have your priorities in order- thank goodness! Good luck with your goals, short term as well as long term into 2012.

That is NOT why we moved to Florida. Where the &$%#@ is the weather so hot that everyone's surfing and swimming??!! THAT'S what I was promised!!

You got to be kidding....60 degrees?????? I would be wearing tshirts and flip flops if it were 60 degrees. Instead I got to listen to DS who is in 1st grade ask me this morning if his eyeballs could freeze if the bus did not come soon.

I hate the cold, but if it keeps the 4 million expected people away from the DC area this week, I'm down! Especially since I have to pick up my inauguration ticket on Monday in DC and then go back for the inauguration on Tuesday. Yikes! I'm skeeered!

School was cancelled in our district today. As of about 4:30pm it is now -12 out! (Feels like -29 with wind chill). It is supposed to be in the 20s this weekend! Heat wave!!

I had a feeling it was that warm today. I was walking outside at ~ 6pm, and it felt like a spring evening. This has me feeling concerned that this is signaling that we're going to have an even hotter than usual summer.

7 degrees here. We lost power at 6:31 as everyone's alarm clock went off and they ran to the thermostats.

Got it back an hour or so later, but we're still running trickles from the faucets on outside walls. Burst pipes are no fun at all.
