They've been doing pre-orders here. Booth sales (aka ambushes at grocery stores and Walmarts) start this weekend, woo-hoo!

Are Mods the only ppl who like girl scout cookies or WHAT?

I am only buying Samoas this year (AKA Caramel Delights). I ordered two boxes from every student who asked me. At one point I ran out and went to a backup dealer, err, supplier, and bought 4 boxes. Those are at school, so I'm sitting here w/ an almost empty box. I'm guessing I'll hit one of the corner dealers, err, suppliers at a local store -- the closest one is **bleep**'s Sporting Goods. I find this humorous -- buy cookies and then buy workout stuff to burn off the cookie damage!

No worries, I won't actually enter the store -- I just want the COOOOOKIES!!!

Yep, Thin Mints and Samoas are the biggies. They're also the quickest to melt in a troop leader's trunk.

Just so you all know, I'm now being sent to Wal-Mart to see if they have a stand outside. They did last weekend, but it is snowing this weekend.

I have a feeling they are not there but I'm being told "maybe they moved it inside".

I guess its ok, as long as they are there. I can stick a few boxes in my truck that no one will know about.

Prices are set by the local GS councils. I think ours are holding at $3.50.

It was so great when they were $2.50, because even the first and second grade Brownies could rattle off the cost for multiple boxes. I nearly lost my mind when they went to $2.75!

Get extra Thin Mints. They keep in the freezer, and they're great in the summer, busted up over ice cream! mmmm...

I normally hate anything coconut. I swear I can taste coconut in some chocolate chip cookies, and if I do, then I won't eat another one. For some reason I don't mind it in Samoas. Weird.

I'm getting ready to head out and scope Lowes for a few things (known cookie booth).

Call your Girl Scout council. They've always got some left, believe me.

You can ask if they'll credit the profits to a troop that's struggling --they'll generally do this. Otherwise, the council keeps the profits for funding the local camp, etc.
