I guess it depends on where you live. And what you are wanting to send.

The order takers you listed are just that. they just send the order to a local florist and take a cut off the top. The local florist is who puts the bouquet together.

Have you thought of doing something unique? Like a cookie bouquet, or a chocolate bouquet, or a fruit bouquet? I think one of them is called incredible edibles, but i might be off.

If you use one of those you listed, then your flowers are going to come from the local florists you don't like. Honestly, you can't go wrong with just a bunch of roses. That should not be too hard to get from a local place, or through one of those you listed.

A lot of the online florists come next day mail, not from the locals.

Also, try Martha Stewart, last time I looked, they had some beautiful arrangements...don't know if they go thru the mail or local.

I may be unique (and maybe why I don't have a significant other ) and although I love fresh flowers, I would probably prefer a plant, something like an orchid, exotic and mysterious -- lasts a lot longer (hopefully!). I also send a lot of bulb gardens, where you grow it once you get (yeh, probably not really romantic).

But to tell you the truth, the best Valentines present I could get right now would be some work around the house, ceiling fans put in, doggie door put in, etc. Or, to have my honey cook a wonderful dinner for me (and clean up!).

Guess I am not a romantic....and I guess every realtionship is different. Try at your own risk!!!

I think it's so sweet for you to get her flowers...I used to get flowers until I got married and that all went out the window! LOL! I did get a car one year for Valentines/new baby gift...so I guess he is still paid up on that! I think Orchids are very beautiful and different for Valentines Day. What's her favorite color in general? Maybe you can find some flowers that are that color!

Message Edited by wildcat on 01-29-2010 04:53 AM

Personally, I loathe Valentines Day. If you need a state mandated holiday to tell me that you love me then there is something very wrong with our relationship to begin with. Flowers on a random Tuesday, just becuase, mean a whole lot more.

That said, if you're in the Dallas, TX area, my husband uses an amazing florist to send me those flowers on random Tuesdays. They are wonderful. I have never had a bad arrangment and the one time that I had one that seemed to get droopy a little earlier than they normally do, my husband mentioned it to the owner and they entire order was replaced for free, including the crystal vase and gourmet chocolates. If you're interested pm me and I'll give you the info.

I honestly do suggest the orchids though. Our anniversary was in August. People in my office still mention them every time they see me
