Disclosure, i work for a cable company..they are criminals i am nine weeks away from a bachelors and will soon after be terminating my employment

here goes

assuming you have wireless internet, laptop, and flat screen television look up Roku or Shark TV. shark Tv has somewhere near 5500 channels, many of which are local. Roku is used to stream Netflix and hooks directly into a television. Shark Tv on the other hand hooks into a USB plug and is significantly cheaper. just throwing this out there.....

Just some advice - don't quit your job until you have an offer from the next one. You might not be happy, but it is temporarily better than being unemployed.

Also - big fan of the Roku. Got one for my parents last year and they enjoy it. While I got suckered by the ISP into getting cable for 6 months, I've realized I don't use it enough, so once my 6 months is up, I'm canceling and sticking with just internet like I originally wanted.

My family and I have been cable free for over two years. 100 dollars for a Roku and 9 bucks a month for netflix beats cable any day.

Granted, we don't watch much TV and I don't follow sports.

awesome to see that people like the alternatives honestly....and i will never quit a job without having another one first. For those that have Roku you should honestly try shark tv worst case scenario you will be out like 40 bucks....

We have hulu plus and amazon prime. We have yet to run out of things to to watch .

I have a Roku, Netflix, Amazon and rent movies.

Amazon was a bit much upfront and I don't use it enough to keep it after it expires.

Go to amazon.com.

They have free movies and TV shows, etc. Then those you have to pay for. They charge a year upfront at $79. In the long run it is cheaper than Netflix.
