Anyone else surprised by how cheap-feeling the Freedom is?

just got my Freedom card. I thought it looked pretty cool, then I pulled it off the paper.

This is thing makes my Quicksliver One look like Ritz Carlton card. I feel like I could tear it in half if I wanted.

Now I know where the budget for the upgraded CSP cards went.

Agreed, got my Freedom last Friday and out of all my new cards it is the worst quality. I just got my Venture, Sallie Mae, Amex BCE, Discover, Citi DP, Quicksilver, & Freedom in around the same time and the Freedom is by far the worst quality... I was fairly dissapointed myself too, although I really won't use it much at all. I just wanted in with Chase.

Oh really do explain! Lol mine feels like cardboard... Not really but it's by far the worst card I've ever had in terms of quality.

Might be just your card. I swipe freedoms all the time and they are pretty sturdy. I would say it's my third sturdiest card (marriott and discover come first).

Does it happen to be a Visa Sig? My Venture is a Sig and it is much thicker and sturdier than a standard Visa... Although this Freedom is "less" sturdy than a standard Visa lol

That's what I'm thinking. I swipe freedoms all day everyday and there is no way that card is flimsy. I think it's a bad batch!

Mine is a Sig but I still think it feels super cheap...kinda like how the csp is plastic over a metal core my freedom feels like plastic over a cardboard core lol

I got mine about 5 weeks ago. Had a Quicksilver last fall and that was much worse. Maybe they changed them. Are your numbers on the front or back?

Most of the freedoms I swipe are the older ones without the chip but mine is the new one with the chip and it's sturdy. This is interesting.

That's exactly what I was thinking... I honestly just thought that's how it was and didn't think any of it until this thread. I'm rarely going to use the card (I wanted in with Chase is all) so I figured oh well, but now I don't know

That's weird. I've had my Freedom for a little over a year and have not had any issues. It is just as sturdy as my other cards. Hopefully, this is an error and if you contact Chase they will send you a new card. I hope they didn't change how the cards are manufactured to pay for the new CSP cards or Slate Fico scores....

The freedom is a great card. I mean, we shouldn't care how our cards "look" but I would call Chase and see what's up.

It's not about the look to me, although I admit I like a nice looking card . It's about the fact that I feel it will fall apart on week 2 of use LOL
