Cap1 Venture card for AU metal?

Hey all!

My girlfriend just added me as an authorized user to her Venture card and with me being how impatient I am, I thought I'd ask you guys my question instead of waiting.

Does anyone know if authorized users get metal cards as well?

I only ask because I have read that existing card holders can only get replacement plastic cards and wasn't sure if AU's will get a plastic or metal card... I hope it's metal.

Any and all response is welcome.

I will update this thread after I receive my card to detail my findings, as I don't think this question has been asked anywhere on the internet (I looked for a while before posting this).

I got even more impatient, so I called Cap1 and the lady looked into my account and saw that I would be receiving a metal card. She said as long as the main cardholder has a metal card, any authorized user they put on the card will also receive a metal card.

Still, I will report my findings when the card comes in the mail.

Not sure if anyone cares, but just received my AU card in the mail and it is in fact a metal card!

It's so sexy! I love it!!

I've only used it twice so far and have gotten a "whoa! This is a nice card!" Response. 😊👍🏼

Hey all!

I just wanted to share with you all because I am soooooo freakin excited about it!

I just got my new Capital One Venture card in the mail a few days ago.

Call me trivial, but I love the weight and the texture of it!

I gotten a few "whoa! This is a nice card!" Responses from cashier's who handle my card.

Below you will see 2 pictures of the front and back (I also like how the card number is on the back in an unorthodox fashion).

Aside from the "cool factor" of being metal, I'm excited about the rewards structure!

What are your guys' favorite metal cards?

I keep going back and forth on this card. I like that it's so flexible in that you can use miles on any travel purchase, and the 40K miles signup bonus is very nice, but it has problems long term. Earning is only as good as my Citi DC card, except I can use that 2% back on anything I want. And my DC has no annual fee... but also no signup bonus.

To me it seems the main benefit of this card is the fat signup bonus. After that it's meh. If I were to get it, I'd probably do so before taking a trip somewhere, long enough to get the bonus (and impress a few waitresses), and then probably PC it to something else before the AF hits.

I kind of agree with you there, but the only difference I see in the 2% I get back with the Venture and the DC is, with the DC, you MUST pay attention to when you pay the bill -> if you pay the balance too early, don't get the 1% back on of payments. The payments must be captured on a "purchase tracker" -> which can be much later than when you make the charges.

The Venture is a no hassle 2% back, but it can only be redeemed for travel (which is fine with me, because it forces me to take vacations and enjoy life).

Most people end up PC'ing to a VentureOne or QS1 because you have to spend more than $8,000 a year to justify the annual fee and rate of return over the VentureOne.

As much as I thought I would like a metal card, I still don't know what to think about it. They are really hard to destroy! Definitely has a wow factor! But I am always using samsung pay anyways!
